My 20th Birthday!

Can ya believe I’m 20?! This mature young woman baby faced thingy has her birthday today and has been in the world for a whole 20 years? I don’t know what I find more upsetting, the fact that I’m no longer a teen or the fact that I’m half way to 40. Woah.

As you’ll know if you follow my Instagram (@wingingmamahood) 100% of you that took part in my poll chose for me to write this post! Basically just chatting about my 20th, what gifts I received, what I got up to blah-de-blah.

Everybody KNOWS how much I love bath time, the time where I’m child free, the only “me” time I’m actually ever entitled to, bless me. So, anything bath related body scrubs/lotions/soaps/sprays/ bath-bombs are always gonna be a winner.

Sayin’ that I STILL am quite the fussy sort when it comes to brands. (Tut, beggars can’t be choosers Joanne.) No, what I mean is I’ve got extremely sensitive skin so basically anything too strong leaves me looking as patchy as Mr.Blobby. Not a flattering look really.

I’ll start by saying that I loved EVERY SINGLE gift I received, like really! The first few sets were of course my all time fave Ted Baker. How gorgeous do they smell?! The scent literally lasts hours aswell it’s insane.

Look at that!!!^^^^

Now if that doesn’t look like heaven I don’t know what does. Ya can tell I’m a mum, I’m always buzzing my little titties of when I come into the bathroom to see these beauties but then start arguing with misen’ about which one I’m gonna use first.

Nah Joanne don’t use any, they look too pretty.

BATH BOMBS OML

I literally feel like I could talk all day long about bath bombs and body washes but that’d be a tiny bit very chuffing boring for you lot.

To say I’m only 20, (I won’t blow my own trumpet) I’m very very proud of myself and how far I’ve come! I’m a mother to 2 beautiful children, I have the best partner a woman could ever dream of and I’ve gained the most positive outlook on life.

If the past 20 years have taught me anything at all it’s that you don’t need a boat load of money or a humongous house to be happy. We’re currently living on a council estate, we’re trying everything we absolutely can to save for our mortgage, we’re not rich but we’re happy, healthy and our house is filled with tonnes of love, that’s all that’s really important to me.

Anyway back to the gifts, as well as all of the lovely presents I received I also got given money to “get what I wanted” with. My parter is always guilty for doing this. Not that I’m complaining cos that’s totally not the case! It’s actually nice because it means we get to head out for a few hours and spend some time shopping together.

With that I ended up buying a pair of Jamie black Top Shop jeans, a belt, a pair of Converse and a new top from Miss Selfridge.

I spend the morning with my boys. Chasing the toddler around like a manic and unloading milk from my right boob (I’ve stopped producing milk in my left but that’s a wholeeeee new post). They didn’t understand that it was mummy’s birthday but that wasn’t an issue at all!

Later on that evening we all hopped in the car and went to my parents for the night! I obviously had a little birthday drink ( you’d be a crazy fool if you didn’t) and don’t forget the fat takeaway to end the night.

I had the best birthday considering the weather was miserable and I had a constant headache.

I cannot wait to see what this year has in store for me and my beautiful family, SO SO SO many exciting things to be looking forward to and I can barely even contain my excitement. EEEEEEEK!

Again, thank you ever so much for being here.

Lots of love,

Joanne X
